Good EveningPeter Cook and Dudley MooreA comedy-revue in two actsJonesborough Repertory Theatre will present Good Evening, a two-man show first written and performed by the infamous due of Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, May16 through 25.The characters in Good Evening provide satirical commentary on contemporary society, as well as musical interludes. This is a very funny show revolves around some unlikely subjects, including a one legged actor applying for the role of Tarzan, an in depth interview with an unimpressed shepherd who witnessed the Nativity, and a French singer who misunderstands an Anglo Saxon vulgarity and composes a song around it.The show highlights the sharp satire of the Cook and Moore style, often poking fun at the British class system. The downright absurdity, especially in the conversation pieces, is timeless.Jonesborough Repertory Theatre first performed Good Evening 10 years ago, with the talented duo of Bill Counts and Bill Livesay. This year’s production features Lucas Schmidt and Ben Bolt, with special appearances by Bill Livesay. The show is dedicated to the memory of a wonderful actor, comedian and friend, Bill Counts.Good Evening runs May 16 through May 25 with show times at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 p.m.Tickets are $15 general admission and $13 for students and seniors.
