With over 48 years in the engineering business I successfully supervised numerous design projects in the pulp and paper, natural gas, power, and petro-chem industries. My background includes supervising design teams, engineering estimating, preparing P&IDs, designing mechanical and piping systems, detail drawings, checking pump calculations, stress analysis, and piping specifications. In addition I spent a great deal of time as an on-site construction field engineer resolving technical problems as well as piping and equipment interferences. I have coordinated complete system checkout, start-up and commissioning efforts as well. And I served as an engineering/construction liaison in support of major EPC projects.My specialty is paper machine design and rebuild, including pulp mill and stock preparation. Have been extensively involved in design, construction, and start-up of paper machines and stock preparation facilities. Also have experience in all other areas of paper mills, as well as natural gas compression and pipeline transfer facilities.Also well versed in scheduling, project controls and many aspects of project execution and management.I am currently retired after spending the last four years of my career as an Senior Engineering Project Manager with Yates Engineering, LLC in Birmingham, AL.In addition to my civilian career I served a cumulative 40 years with the Army, Army National Guard and Army Reserves and trained at multiple locations in the Us and South Korea. In November 2003 I was mobilized with my unit in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF II). I deployed in February 2004. I re-deployed in March, 2005 to Ft. Bragg, NC and was released from active service in August 2005. I resumed my annual reserve training duties till I retired on my 60th birthday on November 5, 2012.In addition to my 5 years of Army active duty service I served with the Alabama Army National Guard for 30 years where I rose through the enlisted ranks to Company First Sergeant. In 2007 I transferred to the Army Reserves and served as a Master Sergeant and First Sergeant for the last five years of my 40 year career.
