Facilitate psychotherapy with individuals, couples and families in private practice, specializing in supporting neurodivergent adolescents, adults, and their families. I utilize a multi-modal creative embodied approach that integrates drama therapy, expressive arts, HRV biofeedback, and several psychotherapeutic frameworks.

Core Faculty in the Counseling Psychology Drama Therapy Program. Courses Taught: Drama Therapy Process & Technique, 3-credit course guiding students through the Integrative Five Phase Model of Drama Therapy; Drama Therapy Theory, a 3-credit course exploring the history, multiplicity, and literature of drama therapy theory and practice both didactically and experientially; Drama Therapy Practice, a 3-credit course that examines, via experiential learning. the clinical application of drama therapy with groups and individual clients across a wide range of ages, populations, and treatment issues; Integrative Seminar, mentor and support students in the creation of a Capstone Project, concepts and skills learned in didactic and experiential components of the program are reviewed and applied to clinical work. In addition to teaching, serve as a member of academic committees, advise and consult with students, participate in student admissions and decisions, and host Information Sessions for prospective students and Community Gatherings for students and alumni.

Courses Taught: Drama Therapy Process & Technique, 3 credit course guiding students through the Integrative Five Phase Model of Drama Therapy; Psychotherapy Theories and Practices, a 2 credit course providing a critical survey and comparative analysis of the major psychotherapy theories; Therapeutic Communication, a 2 credit introductory course using didactic and experiential learning that focuses on the therapeutic relationship as a tool for healing, wellness, and personal change; Supervised Clinical Practicum/Case Seminar in Drama Therapy, which functions as group supervision, training, and consultation for Drama Therapy students in practicum.

Facilitated Drama Therapy using a multi-disciplinary approach with twice exceptional and highly sensitive children, teens, and their families in private practice. Duties included bio-psycho-social assessment, treatment planning, and crisis intervention. Facilitated skills-based Role-Play Game groups with neurodivergent youth, adolescents and adults. Provided individual and group supervision for Associate MFTs, including clinical consultation and training.

Supervised a team of clinical associates in the Ajani program to provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive, strength-based outpatient mental health and school-based counseling services to opportunity youth between 5-25 years of age. Also supervised clinical case managers in the AIDS Case Management program. Duties include providing group and individual supervision, and reviewing assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes for MediCal compliance.

After a one-year unpaid internship, I was hired on as full-time paid counselor. Conducted 10-12 individual counseling sessions per week and co-facilitated weekly groups including psychoeducation, multi-family process, men’s process, expressive arts, and continuing care groups as part of the Outpatient Programs.

Guided the creation of new curriculum for themed weekly psycho-educational, multi-family, process, expressive arts, and continuing care groups for both the Adult and Adolescent Outpatient Substance Abuse Programs. Managed a diverse team of twelve clinicians, administrators and interns to assess clients and conduct outpatient care programs for adult and adolescent clients. Performed outreach to local schools, medical centers and community service organizations, providing educational seminars on substance abuse and chemical dependency.
