The South Cobb Redevelopment Authority is charged with the revitalization and redevelopment of unincorporated South Cobb. Elected Chairman in December 2015.Authored the 2011 legislation that created the authority while serving as a Georgia State Senator.Following election as SCRA Vice Chair after completion of 2013 senate term, served as key player in conception of Special Service District around Six Flags over Georgia, approved by Cobb Board of Commissioners in 2014.Key player in the adoption of 3.5 millage assessment supporting the acquisition and the clearing of decrepit properties for the Six Flags area redevelopment in tandem with Cobb County Community Development stakeholders and SCRA board members.

Elected in November of 2015 as the City Council Member representing Ward 6 for the City of Smyrna.Sworn in as of January 2016. Chairman of Community and Economic Development Committee.

The Smyrna Downtown Development Authority is charged with redevelopment and revitalization of Smyrna.Served as Vice-Chair from 1991 to 2016.The authority has been the catalyst for the redevelopment of downtown Smyrna over the last 30 years with the development of several new public facilities such as a library, community center, city hall, police and fire headquarters which has led to the development of a mixed used retail development with new downtown residential housing included. Due to the early adoption of creating a live, work, play community, the City of Smyrna was recognized as a pioneer in Metro Atlanta by the Urban Land Institute with its Award for Excellence in 1994.Served as key player in redevelopment and revitalization of downtown Smyrna to mixed use town center with housing, retail, and public buildings. Effort led to $250M additional development within two-mile radius of downtown.Authority oversaw the redevelopment of Belmont Hills property from closed shopping center to new public school, single family residential housing, luxury apartments, and retail center based on a smart growth walkable community design.

Led successful effort in cooperation with Georgia State Department of Economic Development to retain Acuity Brands ($2.4B net sales in 2014, 7K employees worldwide) headquarters within DeKalb County.As six-month liaison with state, C-level Acuity executives, and various county agencies, persuaded Acuity Brands to make $11M investment in DeKalb County.
