About Douglas Strahler
Growing up with a fascination of art and how it translated to the computer screen, I became intrigued in how to communicate messages through digital media. Over the years, my desire to continually learn how to leverage these technologies to communicate has allowed me to make a career of my passion with running my own design firm and teaching courses in graphic design, web design, and social media platforms. I am currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication, Media, and Sport Management at Slippery Rock University. Combining my enthusiasm for digital media and communication technologies, I teach students how to research, develop and implement strategies for delivering their message in his web design, digital media and social media courses. In addition, I have a passion for community-engaged learning, as I currently serve as a Community-Engaged Learning Associate at SRU and formerly served as the Service-Learning Faculty Fellow.My research interest focuses on the areas of community-engaged learning and service-learning, as well as social media, user experience design, and instructional technology.Specialties: Social Media, Graphic Design, Web Design, Interactive Design, New Media Design, Typography, Instructional Design and Technology
