The responsibilities of a Launch Quality Engineer include writing control plans, inspection check sheets, process flow diagrams, FMEAs, quoting and designing gauges, completing PPAPs (arranging, editing, proofreading, and managing all aspects), and overseeing capability and prove out runs internally and die shop runs externally.Additionally there is ample communication required, be it within the company in terms of MDS, layout data, MSA results, or getting operator opinions on the new products being launched it is important to keep open conversation. Externally there are always tool shops, gauge shops, and customers that need to be contacted.
