Applied professional and legal awareness to collaborate with executives, attorneys, scientists, engineers, and production staff to develop and scale up the reactive sputter coating processes for high performance electrochromic coating materials, yielding more than 10 times improvement in yield and throughput, 4 patents and more than 20 derivative patents, and step change improvements in product quality and durability.Provided leadership in problem solving and conflict resolution to reformulate and optimize a sol-gel thin film coating process using high throughput and DOE – ANOVA approaches to boost product yield by more than 10 times.Brought client facing skills and project management savvy to the down selection of new transparent conductive layers on a new substrate material for electrochromic coatings, to meet specifications of a fortune 500 corporate client and thereby gain more than $1MM in corporate R&D funding.Brought project management and innovations in metrology to a multidisciplinary team that included production staff and staff scientists at NREL in Golden, CO, to yield 4 new nanocomposite electrochromic materials.Cultivated a skill set that included detailed investigation, communication, commercial acumen, teamwork and relationship building to achieve success in multiple technical projects: e.g. R&D projects, engineering projects, root cause analyses of field failures; and projects involving industrial design.Led a multidisciplinary team to discover and down select new sputter deposited electrochromic materials by high throughput, combinatorial and DOE-ANOVA approaches, and then run full scale coating trials on a pilot line to successfully complete a $550k NSF SBIR project.
