As president and chief executive officer of Mission Fed Credit Union, Doug Wright is dedicated to helping San Diegans live their best lives through financial wellness and economic opportunities. An accomplished and respected financial executive with more than 25 years of experience in commercial and community banking, Doug’s career has been driven by his expertise and leadership in strategic planning, organizational development and financial management. At Mission Fed, the largest member-owned, not-for-profit, full-service financial institution exclusively serving San Diego County, Doug continues to support the credit union’s mission of earning trust, investing in membership’s success and caring for the community by fostering a collaborative environment with Mission Fed members, employees and partners. Doug is dedicated to advocating for financial equity through his support of Mission Fed’s many programs and partnerships, including a variety of free tools and resources for improving financial wellness. Doug has played a critical role in Mission Fed’s success, previously serving as chief financial officer for eight years. Through this experience, Doug has witnessed first-hand how important access to financial literacy is to fostering financial equity and is committed to continue applying those learnings as president and CEO. Doug’s professional involvement includes serving on the Financial Accounting Standards Board Transition Resource Group for Current Expected Credit Loss, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Financial Reporting Executive Committee and America’s Credit Unions’ Regulatory Affairs Committee. He has held leadership roles in many community organizations, including the San Diego Council on Literacy, Jobs Plus, Daybreak Youth Services and the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation, and has volunteered with United Way, The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank, Rady Children’s Hospital, Feeding San Diego, the Girl Scouts and Leadership Spokane.
