First and foremost, I love writing code. Ever since I completed my first video game, "Donkey Kong", in my Software Development & Design class in high school, I have been obsessed with using software to bring ideas to life. Software engineering is a never-ending puzzle, a game of problem solving and design. I enjoy having a practical means of expressing creativity and enjoy the excitement on user's faces as they navigate through the system I've created. For my first professional contract, I was given the opportunity to design a full UI/UX overhaul of a property management website. This involved coding in React (Javascript) and designing the website using Webflow. For my second role, I expanded my software engineering skills by leading a team through a Program Development Project which entailed full-stack web development using NodeJS for the backend, React for the frontend, MongoDB for the database and Heroku for deployment. When I'm not coding for work, I am coding at home. I still enjoy developing games and building websites, it allows me to continue growing my software skillset. Other pursuits I have achieved for my personal development/enjoyment includes completing True Grit (an obstacle course challenge) with friends, travelling overseas and photography.
