From January through the middle of May, served as the II MEF Liaison Officer to the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) Joint Command (IJC) Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Directorate (ISRD) providing situation awareness of Regional Command (RC) Southwest (SW) operations. Increased the amount of theater ISR assets in support of USMC operations in Helmand and Nimroz Provinces by a minimum of 25% directly effecting the overall success of counterinsurgent operations in RC(SW). Provided trends, tactics and procedures (TTPs) and information pertaining to RC(SW)’s use of unattended ground sensors (UGS) to the IJC, which was used as the baseline for how all regional commands in theater should employ their UGS. Also facilitated the acquisition of four additions UGS units for ODA 3316, a unit of Special Operations Task Force-East, which was a force-multiplier for their combat operations. From the second half of May through the beginning of July, served as the II MEF (FWD) C-2 Deputy Intelligence Plans Officer acting as the lead C-2 Plans Action Officer for the Lashkar Gah Transition and Nimroz Operational Communication Center-Provincial (OCC-P) Operational Planning Teams (OPTs). Provided thorough and comprehensive intelligence updates to OPT members during each meeting and wrote multiple intelligence threat estimates for RC(SW) fragmentary orders. Gave several intelligence briefs to the MEF staff and lead the development of priority intelligence requirements (PIRs) and intelligence requirements (IRs) for the creation of an intelligence collection plan for the transition of Nimroz Province.

Served as the Marine Air Group (MAG) – 31 and VMFA-122, a Marine F/A-18 squadron, Intelligence Officer responsible for conducting and supervising the training of new intelligence analysts and providing the squadron’s pilots with periodic intelligence updates and current situational reports. Participated in Exercise Red Flag at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, Nevada, responsible for running the intelligence section that conducted 12 mission briefs, three mass briefs, and over 50 pilot debriefs following each mission and submitted the mission reports to the higher command. Provided current intelligence during mission planning in which the squadron was the mission commander including briefing the intelligence picture to over 100 pilots including multiple General Officers.

Served as the assistant Intelligent Advisor to the 2nd Brigade, 1st Iraqi Army (IA) Division G-2 and the primary Intelligence Advisor to the Brigade’s four subordinate battalions, Scout Platoon and ISR unit, a civilian clothed Iraqi intelligence reconnaissance unit; a Special Operations Force, Foreign Internal Defense mission; responsible for training and advising IA intelligence personnel in collections, management, targeting, and analysis. Provided U.S. Forces-Iraq (USF-I) intelligence reporting and details unavailable at the time regarding the enemy situation and local atmospherics due to no other U.S. personnel located in that region of Diyala Province. Participated in over 20 week long, bilateral combat operations including over 100 dismounted combat patrols resulting in six high-value individual (HVI) captures, over 30 detainees, discovery of over 50 weapons caches and the destruction of more than 70 IEDs. Served as Convoy Commander and Mission Commander 15 times. Worked closely with multiple U.S. Army Special Forces ODA team’s HUMINT Chief Warrant Officer to expand the HUMINT capabilities of both the IA and SOF units within Diyala Province which increased intelligence cooperation and sharing between the two units increasing the success of the overall counterinsurgency mission.

Responsible for the training and operational management of over 100 active and reserve intelligence professionals. Creates unconventional mission planning and operational planning to support theater security cooperation initiatives throughout the Northern Command area of responsibility. Serves as a strategic advisor to the command staff regarding all intelligence operational planning. Provides executive level policy guidance and organizational framework to the Commander and other subordinate units. Have established multiple CI/HUMINT operational proposals for the conduct of CI/HUMINT activities within the U.S. Northern Command area of responsibility. Liaised and developed formal working relationships with Naval Criminal Investigative Service, FBI, Joint Terrorism Task Force - New Orleans and U.S. Army 902d to support CI activities during a local technology conference. Maintained organizational control for the HUMINT Operational Tasking and Reporting (HOT-R) system for both the collectors and the analytical cell with release authority.

Established and ran Southern Commands Executive FORMICA Debriefing Program. Deployed to Belize, a target country of current high visibility to the IC and Southern Command in support of the Senior Defense Official/Defense Attaché focusing on counterterrorism and combating transnational organized crime. Produced over 60 IIRs and received over 40 evaluations from the Intelligence Community.
