As the co-founder of Down Deep Drones, I am passionate about using technology to protect our oceans and marine life. With over 10 years of experience in sales and business ownership, we bring a unique perspective to the marine debris collection industry. My experience of living in Fiji has given me first-hand knowledge of the importance of preserving our oceans and the impact of marine debris on local communities. At Down Deep Drones, we specialise in providing cutting-edge underwater drone technology for marine debris collection, research, the identification and control of invasive species, and Artificial Intelligence on our underwater drones. Our remotely operated vehicles are designed to collect debris in hard-to-reach areas, allowing us to remove debris that traditional methods cannot. Our mission is to make a positive impact on the environment by removing harmful debris from our oceans and provide practicable means to assist in other marine concerns.Through community engagement and outreach, we plan to promote our campaign The Great Garbage Catch. We have developed a remotely operated vehicle at a low entry price specifically for removal of marine debris - ghost net cutter, grappling hook, can and bottle collector and an inflatable bag that can be deployed to lift items as heavy as 250kg to the surface. We are wanting to collaborate with others passionate about protecting the oceans from marine debris. We envisage supplying our De Litter Bug ROV to communities, research organisations, schools, universities, local, state and federal governments, and volunteer groups around Australia. A simultaneous effort to remove marine debris may ignite interest and passion and unite communities around the country - and shine the spotlight on this problem. I believe it will encourage people worldwide, that something of this scale can be achieved and that there IS hope.
