About Matt J. Brown

Matt began his golf career at Gearhart Golf Links in Gearhart, Oregon at age 13 working for then Head Golf Professional, Dan Strite. Matt has worked as a Golf Professional at such prestigious facilities as Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club, Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, and Astoria Golf and Country Club. He has also spent time working at The Quarry in La Quinta, California, Augusta National in Augusta, Georgia and lived for a summer in St. Andrews, Scotland studying the Old Course and other great links courses. Matt enjoys being involved in the community and growing the game of golf as Head Golf Professional and General Manager of The Highlands Golf Club and through his company, Downtown Golf Co, LLC.Downtown Golf Co. currently owns and operates the e-commerce site DiscountDansGolf.com and leases and manages the entire operation of The Highlands Golf Club in Gearhart. Downtown Golf is looking to grow through new e-commerce, retail, teaching, and golf course management and development opportunities.
