SimplyTapp, which was backed by LightSpeed Ventures and Verizon Ventures, invented technology called Host Card Emulation (HCE) for the Android framework that has been implemented in both Google Pay and Samsung Pay products among others. In addition, while CEO at SimplyTapp, Doug launched Gane Loans, an app that makes splitting purchases into monthly payments easy. He also launched Gane Offers, making coupons and offer redemption seem-less from mobile phone to point of sale. SimplyTapp was licensed and regulated as a Card Program Manager for Sunrise Banks for the Gane MasterCard Product that included a Direct Depository Account (DDA) for full checking functionality. SimplyTapp card products included GPR (General Purpose Reloadable), gift card, and corporate incentive card, all of which are audited and regulated under the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), MasterCard and Visa.Doug has deep financial card and bank account creation, launch, regulation, certification and audit expericne. In addition, a deep understanding and hands on experience with product strategy, product management, hardware design and engineering, electrical design and engineering, embedded software experience.Prior to SimplyTapp, Doug founded and was CEO of TradeWind Technologies Inc. TradeWind Technologies designed, developed, and manufactured RFID readers in the 13.56 MHz band. TradeWind’s products included a SDIO RFID reader that was used as an attachment to PDA’s or mobile phones for logistic applications. TradeWind was acquired by SIRIT technologies of Dallas, Texas (Now Federal Signal Inc. FSS (NYSE)) in April of 2006. Prior to TradeWind Technologies, Doug was the lead mechanical designer and engineer at HealthSpecs Inc., now Nano-detection Technologies Inc. HealthSpex was focused on bio-medical detection hardware.Doug’s first venture was Yeager Automation in 1999 where he was the sole proprietor/owner and developed the first software solution that could convert a PC into a stepper motor controller for home hobby milling machines
