Nothing gets the heart pumping faster than a competitive challenge. From the moment I stepped into the XMI index option pit on the floor of the American Stock Exchange in August of 1987 yes, I do have great timing, to this very day, I am drawn to the difficult and complex. Give me a challenge and the first steps are research. Showing up ill or uninformed is not an option. Since childhood I have been an autodidact and to this day, I always throw myself into collecting and analyzing data first. It is in the data that the answers lie.1) I am passionate about crafting solutions that empower all stakeholders. For that reason, I have had partners for multiple decades.2) Risk is laden with valuable information that defines not just how an investment, entity, or individual will perform but how those it or they touch perform. Given the rich informational component of risk, it is my prime directive. Once understood, opportunities present themselves clearly defined.3) The most successful business leaders I know empower, support, and educate others. It is the easiest way to grow a network of like-minded individuals.4) Life is too short to stay in the unproductive, embrace new opportunities like a lost cousin.5) The single most important characteristic to leading a fulfilling and productive life is to learn to minimize the time spent in cognitive dissonance. When a new piece of information arrives that truthfully challenges a belief, no matter how uncomfortable it may be, don’t despair, just change. All that has ever held me back is my attachment to things that cannot be.When I arrived on the floor of the American Stock Exchange, I decided to always conduct myself to the highest standards. Impeccable honesty and fidelity. Each night I was able to rest assured I had done my best. It became the design for my life and all my endeavors.
