I was responsible for developing and executing strategies designed to strengthen DHA's external and internal communities. My role allowed me to build partnerships and relationships that helped HAPPEN achieve its mission and vision. As Director of Community Strategy, I led a small team of professionals across our three locations who are responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive marketing plan, special events, volunteer engagement, and community outreach. I also oversaw our Rehoboth Adoption Center Director and helped champion the success of this location. DHA is merging with Delaware SPCA. Working very closely with our CEO and Board of Directors, I have been an integral member of the team responsible for moving the merger forward, and have led the development of the combined organization's new name and branding. I am charged with creating a brand implementation strategy that creates awareness and generates excitement around the new branding.Having been the organization's previous Director of Philanthropy, my work is activated with a philanthropic mindset, and I work very closely with the CEO and Director of Philanthropy to help build the financial health of the organization.

I was responsible for leading the organization's comprehensive philanthropy and marketing initiatives. I worked closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to achieve DHA's financial goals, and to provide our donors with an excellent donor relations experience. During my time as Director of Philanthropy, I was assigned special projects, including helping to lead the execution of the organization's merger with another non-profit animal shelter, as well as supervising our Rehoboth Adoption Center Director. During my time as Director of Philanthropy, I led a volunteer committee that ran a small capital campaign that resulted in the complete renovation of our Rehoboth Adoption Center.

I was responsible for overseeing all development activities for the Delaware community of Multiplying Good (formerly Jefferson Awards Foundation), including corporate and foundation giving, individual giving, and special events. I was also the lead for coordinating and guiding our local Advisory Board comprised of business and community leaders in the State of Delaware.

My position was focused on three primary pillars: team leadership and management for a Development department of six professionals, major donor cultivation and relations for Independence Society (donors of $1,000+) members, and managing Solla's Partners, CPL's planned giving society. Additionally, I collaborated closely with the Executive Director/Founder to lead the Partnership for Independence Campaign, an $8.5 million capital campaign to renovate and expand the organization's facilities at its 45-acre campus in Cochranville, PA. The Development Office at CPL was responsible for raising funds to support nearly 100% of the organization's annual operating budget of more than $1.5 million. I had a positive influence on CPL by establishing a strong and highly-performing development team, personalizing and targeting communications with the organization's donors, strengthening relationships with the organization's key supporters, and bridging the gap between the Board of Directors and development initiatives.

I was charged with the task of directing Development and Marketing efforts at AIDS Delaware. In my first year, my focus was refreshing the image of the agency and increasing the communications with its donors and supporters through print and web media and social networking. A large part of my job was also leading major fundraising events, such as Red Ribbon Runway, IMAGINE, Dining Out for Life, and AIDS Walk Delaware, as well as seeking corporate and foundation donations.One of my greatest successes while at AIDS Delaware was leading the AIDS Walk Delaware committee (comprised of employees from AIDS Delaware and Delaware HIV Consortium) to raise more than $150,000 in 2014, a 40% increase from the year before. I also successfully reversed the downward fundraising trends of all of AIDS Delaware's major events.While at AIDS Delaware, I was solely responsible for donor relations and led volunteer efforts. I motivated a team of volunteers to plan and execute one of our major fundraising events, IMAGINE, which took a large pressure off of the limited staff. In general, all donor and volunteer relations were streamlined and brought to a higher level of professionalism under my leadership.Finally, I worked closely with the Case Management team to launch and seek funding on strategic initiatives, such as establishing an internal Emergency Assistance Fund program for clients, and creating a resource lab for clients to find jobs and work on resumes, learn about financial literacy, and find resources and support for dealing with their disease.

I was responsible for planning and coordinating the annual Grand Gala, including ticket sales and seating, marketing, managing the volunteer Planning Committee, soliciting sponsorship requests, and overseeing the page sales and production of the Grand Gala Program Book. I also managed the applications and reporting of corporate, government, and foundation grants. Additional efforts included helping start and maintain initiatives to "green" the organization by beginning an institutional recycling program, participating in re-writing an organization energy policy, and aiding in researching the feasibility of the installation of solar panels.
