Profile bio

About Praveen Chandar

Having passed out as a mechanical engineer in 2017, little did I know what the next 4 years had in store for me. I joined a mechanical firm as a design engineer straight out of college. I meanwhile started volunteering in childcare institutions as a teaching volunteer. While my full-time job was rigorous and challenging, the volunteering journey proved to be a source of fulfillment and a glimpse of how meaningful work can be. After 2 years in the industry, I quit in 2019 in pursuit of social impact and started full-time work with Make a Difference. The pandemic year made me truly realise my privilege. There are multiple Indias giving out multiple experiences based on gender, class, caste and access to markets. These realisations coupled with the learning crisis India is going through drove me towards rural India and I joined the Azim Premji foundation as a fellow, working both with rural government schools and with the rural health care system. My long-term goal is designing scalable, sustainable solutions to our most pressing problems. I'm going about this in two ways. Firstly, I'm immersing myself in the context of problems in Education, health etc. Secondly, through avenues like the Citizens for public leadership fellowship, I'm building the required networks and skills.

Listed skills include Microsoft Office, Management, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and 18 others.
