Focus on both European and Global high yield portfolios

Sectors under coverage include Automotive, Transportation Services and Capital Goods (mainly Construction Machinery and Diversified Manufacturing). The universe encompasses both investment grade and high yield.

Activities include the management of several European and Global high yield portfolios, credit analysis of companies within the sectors Capital Goods, Healthcare, Real Estate, Transportation and Leisure, and marketing activities related to the high yield funds.

In July 2016, Daniel made the transition from Credit Analyst to Portfolio Manager High Yield at APG Asset Management. Following the transition, Daniel became part of the European High Yield PM team, consisting of three PMs covering both high yield bonds and bank loans. Daniel continued covering the retail sector after assuming the new role as High Yield PM.

Daniel joined the Credit Research team in December 2012 and has covered Retail, Transportation/Infrastructure and part of the Utilities sector (namely water, waste and regulated utilities). He became a full and permanent member of the Credits Research team when he joined the team for the last assignment of his graduate program. Daniel has been promoted to Senior Credit Analyst as of January 2016.

During the 2-year graduate program, Daniel has spent six months at each department he has worked at. These four departments are Financial Risk Management, Equities (Fundamental Stock Selection; Financials), Trading desk (FX) and Fixed Income (Credits). For his first assignment at the Financial Risk Management department, Daniel made an assessment of all risk tools employed within APG. In addition, he was involved in the development of a money markets credit risk tool and the development of a credit risk tool based on the Basel II framework. Next, Daniel went on to the Equities department, where he focused on European banks. At this department, Daniel performed a stock analysis and developed several models and tools. For his third assignment at the Trading desk, Daniel was involved in FX trading and the development of a short-term FX fair value model. At the fourth and final assignment, which was at the Credits department, Daniel became a full member of the Credits Research team right away and started taking over coverage of part of the Utilities sector and the Transportation/Infrastructure sector.
