I led the IT team for a company in the industry of fundraising for charities and political organizations.Through my efforts, I helped drive optimizations to the team's processing of customer leads for fundraising, speeding up the processing well over 100% so that in many cases, instead of taking days from process to load, it could take hours. Through automation, we were able to easily absorb the work from a departing employee with less time for completion and a lower cost to the company.I recommended to the company and managed the migration to G Suite, giving the company greater control over its email as well as consolidating our files as we moved from another file storage provider.I acted as a subject matter expert for programming and database issues for less experienced employees.I coordinated the move of the company's office space.

I drove a large increase in customer satisfaction scores while managing legacy FootPrints team (an IT service desk application). As manager in charge of quality, I reduced the number of customer reported defects from release to release of the newly rewritten FootPrints while with global teams spread across multiple time zones around the world. To enable legacy FootPrints customers to continue onto the rewritten FootPrints, I developed and documented plans on how customers would migrate. In addition, I provided security guidance for both FootPrints products, as well as testing, and I directed the FootPrints team's compliance with third-party software license requirements.I took over management of Service Desk Express, which was marked for end of support and I successfully kept the issues at a steady state with a smaller team so as to provide BMC with cost savings. I also managed a successful move of legacy build systems to the BMC internal cloud, providing greater reliability for the team.I worked directly with customers with escalations to mitigate their concerns and maintain their relationships with BMC Software and I continued as a member of BMC's Patent Review Committee, reviewing inventor submissions for filing patent applications.

I created a regular security testing process as the security manager for FootPrints (an IT service desk application), providing guidance to the team on security requirements and ensuring the application was tested and vulnerabilities triaged. Through my direction, we also proactively improved the session management of FootPrints. I also became the primary manager for FootPrints development for the legacy product in supporting the customer base prior to the release of the rewritten product. In doing so, I successfully managed the team to higher customer satisfaction scores. I also led the overall FootPrints team in proper license compliance for third-party software.This was a challenging period, as Numara was absorbed into a much larger company. I worked closely with senior management in strategic planning for FootPrints development efforts and worked with a global team across multiple teams on the development of our rewritten version of FootPrints as a key subject matter expert on customer and technical issues.When problems arose while writing the new version of FootPrints related to the handling of time zone issues, which no developer on the team could resolve, the problem was assigned to me. I analyzed the problem, tested potential solutions and eventually developed and documented a successful solution for implementation in the product.I was appointed to represent my department in BMC's Patent Review Committee. This committee of various architects and managers determined which innovations BMC would select for patent applications. In addition to making those determinations, I guided inventors in presenting their inventions to the Committee.

Following the acquisition of UniPress Software by Numara Software, I continued development of the FootPrints software (an IT service desk application) as well as leading a team of developers to fix defects and assist customer support in providing solutions to customers for their problems. Following the departure of the UniPress founders from Numara, I was promoted as a Development Manager.During my time in management, I designed and refactored the product's time zone handling for better localization for an increasingly global customer base. As part of this change, I contributed key changes to the open source DateTime-TimeZone module on CPAN to support time zone handling on newer Windows operating systems (the existing code broke starting with Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista).In the constant effort to improve our processes, I designed and implemented a change in our source control to Subversion and I was a key contributor in solving difficult customer issues. I eventually took over all management of the software developers for FootPrints.

I commenced a career change to software development, by developing FootPrints, a web-based IT service desk application. I worked with a team of developers to increase the functionality of FootPrints for a growing customer base. During my tenure as a contributor to the product, I was the primary developer for some key features, such as the LDAP integration for address books and authentication.Focusing on the needs of our customers, I personally recommended to the CEO that we should implement usability changes in the product through improvements to the installation's handling of web server configuration and file permissions. I executed these changes and the improvement resulted in fewer installation failures reported to customer support. Additionally, through my efforts we started compiling Perl modules to further add to the core modules we had provided to that time, which enabled the team to better develop new features more quickly.Served as a subject matter expert on 508 compliance and web accessibility. Worked with customers to improve the accessibility of FootPrints.

Working as a young associate, I handled bankruptcy matters for creditors and financial transactions representing banks at one of the largest law firms in New Jersey. Among my duties were the drafting of briefs, processing discovery for litigation and arguing motions in court.

As a law clerk, I worked closely with the three U.S. Bankruptcy judges in Newark, New Jersey: Judges Rosemary Gambardella, William Tuohey and Novalyn Winfield. During this time, I researched and wrote draft opinions, ranging from bankruptcy issues to issues regarding state law.
