Purchasing Manager / Program Manager-Mk-93 Gun MountPrecision Metals Corp Oct 2007 - Aug 2009As the Purchasing Manager I was responsible for the procurement of all the material (steel, stainless, aluminum, titanium, high temp, plastics, honeycomb, bonded in bar, tube, sheet, etc.), hardware (MS, NAS, PEM, etc.), post processing (heat treat, chem. film, solution anneal, etc.), finishing (phosphate coating, prime & paint, anodize, etc.), and outside processing (castings, hydro form, complete machining, etc.). Make reccomdations on capital equipment purchases.As Manager I would: Delegate duties to my team. Participate in production meetings. Work with shipping to resolve certification issues and confirm purchase orders for outside processes are correct before being shipped out. Work with accounting to resolve billing issues. Negotiate contracts and purchase orders with vendors and suppliers. Extract scanned drawings and solid models from the system for submitting RFQ’s. Work with Engineering to aid in material, hardware, and outside processing elements of the bill of materials on jobs. Research and answer questions from vendors and suppliers about blueprints.As Program Manager, I was responsible for the single largest contract in the company. A $13 Million prime supplier Army contract.As Manager I would: Oversee every aspect of planning, forecasting costs, production, and shipping. Make sure we have redundancy through multiple vendors and suppliers should a break down in the supply chain (internal or external) occur. Coordinate orders and deliveries to make sure deliveries are on schedule. Manage a team of five project managers while serving as project manager on one sub-assembly as well. Work closely with Quality department in submitting first article test reports. Work closely with shipping department to make sure all packaging is complying with MIL specifications.
