As a training and development professional, my focus is how my actions and behaviors can influence the growth of others. Throughout my experience in the insurance industry and a civil defense firm, I have had the opportunity to build my project management, communication, collaboration, negotiation, change management, and program development skills. I believe that the primary purpose of a leader is not to advance myself as a leader, but to advance those I lead. I find the connection between leadership and a follower’s development and growth extremely interesting. I am passionate about servant leadership and am constantly looking for ways to implement elements of this leadership style in my work. It is my belief that servant leadership is the overarching leadership style that encourages the leader to modify their leadership style based on the needs of the follower.
