He was also the founder of the Commerce Platform Partnerships team for Instagram Shopping and Facebook Shops. He led the team that is working to develop product partnerships to enable businesses of all kinds to use Facebook's growing portfolio of commerce products. His team was responsible for developing the partnerships strategy, building the right relationships, and then building the products that allow sellers to both access and optimize commerce, with most focus on FB's emerging on-site checkout products.Prior to his role in commerce, Doug held a similar role within the Ads Org at Facebook. Building the team that enabled Facebook's ad products designed for omnichannel businesses through technology partnerships. While in this role, he helped bring more than 10 products to market, working with Facebook's own product team and partner product teams to develop unique value for clients with innovative solutions.Prior to Facebook, Doug spent most of his career at McKinsey & Company, while also working at a couple of early stage startups. He has a MBA and an MS in Product Design from Stanford University, and a BS in Business and BA in International Relations from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Avid traveler, amateur foodie, global citizen, and manic checker of fivethirtyeight, Doug is a native New Yorker who has lived in cities across the country and around the world.
