1. Coordination and LeadershipØ Provide technical support to the District Poliomyelitis Eradication Committee and the District Health Management Team in all areas of polio eradication including training/capacity building of all staffØ Coordinates and supervises the work of WHO staff in the assigned districtØ Advocate for support to other priority health interventions with policy makers with government and other stakeholders.Ø Support the full implementation of the National Emergency Action Plan (NEAP) and other key policy documents on polio eradication and immunization at the divisional level.2. Supplemental Polio Vaccination Campaigns (SIA)Ø Provide technical support to pre-campaign activities particularly planning, preparing and monitoring the quality of area level Micro-planning, at the union council, tehsil and district levels. Monitor the availability of human and material resources and provide necessary support to augment them.Ø Conduct regular and timely resource planning, rationalization and submission for review and approval to the provincial officeØ Ensure selection of appropriate vaccinators and supervisors according to the guidelinesØ Monitor and support the trainings in the pre-campaign phase; for various categories of health workers involved in vaccination and supervision.Ø Monitor and supervise the work of all categories of health workers during the Implementation phase of the campaign and share the key observations and recommendations / and corrective actions taken with responsible authorities on daily basis.Ø Monitor the utilization of resources and immediately report issue, if any to the immediate supervisor and provincial team leader.Ø Participate in the identification and selection of the appropriate independent monitors for Post Campaign monitoring and validity of the process and data.

Under the technical supervision of WHO Provincial and Federal Team Leader for polio eradication, Provincial Surveillance officer and the overall supervision of the WHO Representative, the Surveillance Officer will be the focal point for surveillance activities in the assigned districtSupport district health authorities (DHO/EDO, EPI manager, District Surveillance Coordinator) in ensuring that there is a functional AFP surveillance system in place as per the national guidelines.Support preparation of detailed district surveillance workplans to be implemented by district Health authoritiesand partner staff(Area Coordinator, PEOs, NSTOP, DHCSO etc.)Review surveillance sites (active and zero-reporting) regularly and prioritize in light of the health seeking behavior data.Ensure that the regular surveillance visits to reporting sites are undertaken by the surveillance staff as per the workplan and no AFP case is missed from being reported.Ensure timely management of all AFP cases (investigation, stool collection and transportation, case classification).Organize and conduct detailed epidemiological investigation of urgent (hot), confirmed and compatible polio cases; AFP cases with zero OPV dose, AFP case clustering, WPV positive environmental isolates.Facilitate that all data from AFP cases are properly collected, line-listed, analyzed and interpreted timely; and forwarded to provincial office. Ensure that appropriate actions are under taken in response to the findings.Monitor the surveillance indicators as well as quality of surveillance data in the district(s) of responsibility and the required actions are taken.Organize orientation sessions for health care providers (formal and informal).Assist in ensuring inclusion of all high risk/ underserved/ migrant population in the Surveillance network.Ensure the environmental samples collection and transportation as per the defined SOPsAssist with the strengthening of measles and MNT surveillance activities.

• Analyze the current system and program monitoring indicators, and develop tools to assess progress against the Augmented National Emergency Action Plan (aNEAP).• Adapt a monitoring system for each field level.• Develop and implement data entry protocols that support the monitoring system.• Develop a capacity building plan for the monitoring and evaluation team and implement training in collaboration with the Training Officer.• Participate in the review of the project and any other relevant meetings.• Provide a monitoring report for campaigns, surveillance and as required (including weekly reports to the emergency coordinator to be shared with partners via teleconference)• Work with the partners to improve data quality and analysis with emphasis on independent monitoring of immunization campaigns.• Conduct research to assess the impact of special interventions like deployment of vaccination teams and short interval additional doses in high risk Union Councils• Supervise the coordination of the polio eradication data management system• Liaise with universities and institutes that conduct researches including laboratories.

Under the technical supervision of WHO Provincial and federal Team Leader for polio eradication and the overall supervision of the WHO Representative, I am responsible of all the polio eradication activities in the assigned district and undertaken following duties:Supplemental Polio Vaccination Campaigns (SIA)1. Provide technical support to pre-campaign activities particularly planning, preparing and monitoring the quality of area level Micro-planning, at the union council, tehsil and districts levels.2. Monitor the availability of human and material resources.3. Monitor and support the trainings in the pre-campaign phase; for various categories of health workers involved in vaccination.4. Analyzing the monitoring data of all the Phases(pre-Campaign, Campaign and post campaign )and provide the Deputy Commissioner with actionable data for decision making, and assisting the THO for actions required, if any.5. Provide special focus on the high risk populations, special strategies devised by MoH for risk populations and the National Emergency Action Plan for Polio Eradication in 2013.AFP Surveillance1 . Complement district health authorities / staff efforts to ensure timely investigation of all AFP cases including timely stool collection and undertake regular site visits.2. Participate in detailed epidemiological investigations of urgent (hot), confirmed and compatible polio cases and AFP cases with zero routine OPV dose, ensuring inclusion of all high risk/ underserved/migrant population in the Surveillance network and all AFPs are reported from them, strengthening of measles and MNT surveillance activities.Routine EPIAssist in the various aspects to ensure development, maintenance, and monitoring of routine EPI, and participate in SIAs related to other EPI diseases.

1. Promote and monitor UC and community level activities for polio eradication and routine immunization in reluctant and underserved communities.2. Support town health management team for implementation of the town/district POLIO Eradication initiative, and Social Mobilization.3. Monitor immunization campaign to give immediate feedback to insure remedial measures in the course of action. 4. Coordinate the process of PCM collection and compilation of data and feedback to THMT.5. Support district advocacy/social mobilization activities with innovative approaches particularly engaging district/town authorities and community leaders. 6. Jointly review campaign and surveillance data of the district with THMT and develop plan of action for improvement. 7. Develop monthly work plan. 8. Ensure quality implementation of IEC activities (especially group meetings, rallies, mosque announcements) and other persuasive communication techniques for polio eradication and routine immunization. Support Government partners during polio rounds in non-SM areas. E.g. Go to rural area for monitoring help to cover missed households. 9. Assist and facilitate PEI and EPI training activities in particular SIAs and routine immunization trainings of supervisors and team members. 10. Prepare monthly and quarterly progress report along with routine immunization activities in the end of assignment consolidated reports of all activities undertaken and share the same with supervisor (WHO) and the C4D specialist, UNICEF, Karachi.

Working in close collaboration with all POLIO partners (WHO-Unicef and Govt) to assist town healthmanagement team to develop town implementation plan of supplementary immunization activities and routine immunization (for communication/social mobilization training micro planning/supervision & monitoring) & submit to provincial steering committee.2. Support town health management team for implementation of the town/district POLIO Eradication initiative, routine immunization and EPI plan.3. Monitor immunization campaign to give immediate feedback to insure remedial measures in the course of action.4. Coordinate the process of PCM collection and compilation of data and feedback toTHMT.5. Support district advocacy/social mobilization activities with innovative approaches particularly engaging district/town authorities and community leaders.6. Facilitate surveillance process as and when required by the supervisor and help in Stool collection and data analysis at town/district level.7. Jointly review campaign and surveillance data of the district with THMT and develop plan of action for improvement.8. Develop monthly work plan.9. Facilitate the supervisor I regular briefings to the town/district and provincial teams on key issues.10. Prepare and submit monthly progress and end of mission reports to the supervisorand the provincial office along with routine immunization reports of the month.11. Assist and facilitate PEI and EPI training activities in particular SIAs and routine immunization trainings of supervisors and team members.12. Prepare monthly and quarterly progress report along with routine immunization activities in the end of assignment consolidated reports of all activities undertaken and share the same with supervisor (WHO) and the PD – EPI & UNICEF, Karachi.13. Develop quarterly reports on PEI and EPI activities especially routine immunization activities in the district/town and after sharing with the supervisor submit to PD-EPI & UNICEF.
