Eight years ago, I stepped eagerly into the immersive world of virtual reality, excited to finally ‘arrive’ and be present within the digital worlds that fascinate me. Ever since, my passion for VR’s potential to transform human performance, well-being, and learning has only deepened. As a lead researcher at Liminal VR, I shape our research vision to develop evidence-based experiences that create a meaningful, lasting impact. The most rewarding part of my work is seeing these experiences in action — whether it's helping people find focus at work, sparking awe in the everyday, or providing moments of calm and peace amidst life’s challenges.During my PhD journey I explored how VR can influence attention and mood, pioneering design approaches such as interactive meditation and abstract restorative environments. This research not only showcased measurable benefits across diverse communities but also laid the foundation for the Focus arena on the Liminal Platform.I thrive in collaborative spaces that balance creative design with scientific rigor, transforming complex research ideas into practical solutions that inspire growth, learning, and well-being.Other experiences and achievements:- Keynote conference presenter.- Data analysis and insight generation (including over 2 million data points gathered from VR platform data).- VR laboratory design & management with studies exploring the cognitive and emotion impact of motion, colour, sound, breathing and more (49k participants and counting).- Research and development of design theory and educational materials underpinning each arena on the Liminal platform (Calm, Energy, Pain Relief, Awe, Focus, and Sleep).- Project management and evaluation for a series of innovative grants in Australia (e.g. Australian 5G Innovation Initiative, Emerging Priorities Program)- UX and UI research and design across both immersive and 2D digital mediums.- First author publications in high impact journals.- Mentorship of budding VR developers and artists.
