BSc.Hons MRCGP) is a family medicine physician in London with a host of roles centred on his values of advocacy, education, community and supporting others. He’s currently a First5 Lead helping newly qualified First5 GPs with the transition and Chair of his local LMC representing his constituents and advocating for the wider general practice workforce in the face of ongoing crises and challenges. Alex completed an NHS England Fellowship (2020-22) focussed on embedding social prescribing and led on projects to improve healthcare provision for asylum seekers and children with suicidal ideation. He is an organising member of PlanetHealthX an incubator which brings together leaders from the field of Planetary Health, Web3 and other sectors to collaborate on solutions to the climate crises in 2022. In 2020 he co-authored a book chapter on eco-distress, survival solutions, mental health and the role of social prescribing with Royal College of Psychiatry Social Prescribing Lead Dr Katherine Kennet for the Green Economics Institute. He has a specialist interest in mental health and wellbeing of healthcare professionals and as a National Lead for Wellbeing for the Royal College of General Practitioners, has helped formalise national policy statements and also produced resources to support doctors.He co-founded The Workwell Doctors in 2019 - an organisation that focuses on supporting the welfare and wellbeing of the NHS and wider workforce. He is also an Ambassador for the charity You Okay Doc? which has a global mission to improve the mental health of workers in the healthcare profession. Alex is also a certified Coach and uses his skills to support doctors returning to work after periods of sickness or leave. He won the RCGP Inspire Award for Trainee Doctor of the Year in 2019 for his work supporting the profession.
