Hortland is available to assist students seeking a Doctoral degree or a Master's degree (with thesis requirement) required to complete a dissertation or thesis as part of their program of study. The priority of Graduate Services include Dissertation formatting, the submission process, and final requirements (as required by Dissertation Committee) as well as, professional development, academic enhancement, and student development.

Management responsibilities included organizing Chancellor's annual campaign, office management, donor record-keeping, major gifts recognition, developing mail campaigns, recognizing corporate and foundation donors; producing presentations for special events and community relations. Fundraising and annual giving assistance for student scholarships, donor research - donor interviews, event planning, gift solicitation, community building, and collaborative event activity planning for individual colleges as needed. Represented HCC system to community and business partners.

Contract Training and Continuing Education - Organized, planned and instituted curriculum development and course instruction; maintained yearly budget for materials and overall program needs investigated; sought in-kind donations, designed and formed business partnerships; developed, managed and evaluated individual instructional units, i.e. horticulture, landscape design, interior plant design and floral design; Developed and coordinated correctional educational workforce training program from contract training basis; Maintained communication with college administration, county and other persons concerning best practices in inmate training program.
