The Office of HIV AIDS (OHA) at USAID Bureau for Global Health is an Implementing Agency of the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), managed by the Office of the Global AIDS Coordinator at the State Department (S/GAC).My primary role at OHA was as a Technical Expert supporting the development and market introduction of innovative methods of HIV prevention in women including vaginal rings, patches, long-acting injectables and oral pre-exposure prophylactics (PrEP). In this role, I provided guidance on program strategy; reviewed work plans and budgets, participated in organizing the annual project advisory committee and cooperating agencies meetings for implementing partners and participated in technical working groups and meetings with other USG agencies and partners.Notable Achievements: Recognized with AAAS Fellowship Award for launching an innovative project, focused on strategically reducing the time to registration and supply of HIV prevention and treatment products in Sub-Saharan Africa. Selected form dozens of qualified experts to represent USAID on an interagency Epidemic Control Leadership Team (ECT) hosted by S/GAC to support the PEPFAR Strategy for Accelerating HIV/AIDS Epidemic Control (2017 – 2020) Played a key role as key technical resource in ECT for HIV prevention technologies, oral pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), adolescent girls and young women (AGYW), public-private partnerships, costing/finance and sustainability. Served as an integral member of the following teams to execute key organizational initiatives:- Technical Evaluation Committee to facilitate in-depth evaluation of applications for a competitive procurement that led to four new cooperative agreements in 2017;- ECT Short-term task teams for PrEP implementation/scale-up and transition to the fixed dose combination of Dolutegravir, Lamivudine and Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate (TLD).

These partnerships were essential in facilitating agricultural development of the plant, drug product development, and clinical trials of a novel anti-malarial from Cryptolepis sanguinolenta.
