I was Secretary to the University Research and Business Development Committee (top level decision making body) setting its agenda annually on behalf of the PVC, writing minutes and executive summaries, project managing and evaluating its activities, overseeing its working groups and task teams and presenting recommendations. I remodelled it from a Policy Committee to an Executive Board, defining the terms of reference and roles and gaining approval for the constitutional change by the Board of Governors. I established the University ethics policy and governance structures. This covered developments in Engineering and computing and use of devices, which was highly novel at the time and commended by the Research Councils. I also set up a workshop in 2003 to explore links between intellectual property, public engagement and PR and develop case studies, titled 'impact'. I was responsible for briefing the PR team on project initiation. This linked to the researcher training program which I led alongside review of the external research web presence. I was European Liaison Officer, interfacing with UKRO and the National Contact Points (NCPs). I oversaw implementation and customisation of the University commercial research management IT system. In final year I was deputy team manager (Senior Officer). I identified key priorities from the Enterprise Centre strategy and interviews with research directors during the change project to create faculties, (e.g interdisciplinary arts, computing, engineering and science). I set the annual team objectives and KPIs, presenting, gaining approval by presentation to PVC. I also developed the research theme of Health and Wellbeing. I also completed two post graduate courses and published a paper during this post. Show less
