In 2023 Amanda returned to the Faculty of Education at the University of Melbourne. She works in the Teacher Education Academic group, is the Course Coordinator for the Master of Teaching Secondary (Continuing) and the Project Lead for Mentoring for Professionals. Amanda is particularly interested in professional formation and identity at all stages of one's career and life. Education is an intentional act and she weaves her knowledge of wellbeing and positive psychology with learning and possibilities. As the founder of UniConnectEd, an innovative platform that supports students at the University to connect with industry partners for authentic employment opportunities, she translates these theories into impact. Her interest in Leadership Literacy through Leadership Education forms the basis for her teaching and research projects. Dr. Amanda Samson has worked and studied in Melbourne and London. Her doctorate studies focused on gender, identity and language in an education context. While in London Amanda spent time working as an executive researcher with renowned feminist writer and researcher Shere Hite at the Hite Research Institute, London. She also held leadership roles in two London based universities, in student wellbeing, blended learning and research portfolios. In 2016 She completed a Masters in Education (Leadership & Management) to further her interest in developing people and inclusive, dynamic and creative educational environments. The importance of collaborative and coherent change leadership which builds learning communities was a key focus of her studies.
