A seasoned enrollment and higher education professional, Dr. Amber Williams is responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing evaluation of a comprehensive university-wide enrollment management plan for long-term strategic enrollment growth; drive decisions supporting recruitment, admissions and financial aid strategy; implement growth strategies to achieve enrollment targets that enhance the university’s academic profile and diversity; and oversee college access programs that support the recruitment and academic success of low-income, first-generation and underrepresented ethnic minority students. The assistant vice chancellor provides leadership for the Office of Admissions, New Student Enrollment, Office of University Registrar, Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid, Husker Hub--One-Stop Shop for Student Services, and the Nebraska College Preparatory Academy.

As the Director of Admissions, I have broad responsibility for leadership, vision, and management of the University's undergraduate admissions, operations, and recruitment strategies to attract and enroll a talented and diverse student population. I provide guidance and supervision of more than 80 staff and is responsible for budget development, expense audits, and effective management of more than $4 million. Additionally, I have responsibility for the selection and distribution of more than one million dollars in leadership, diversity, and global scholarships. I actively work with Senior Administration, Deans, faculty, and staff to meet enrollment goals through strategic planning and assessment.As the Associate Dean, I supervise the Director of Marketing & Director of Recruitment Technology for the Academic Services & Enrollment Management (ASEM) division. These departments oversee print, websites, social media, and Talisma (CRM) for the ASEM division. The division includes the Office of Admissions, Online & Distance Education, Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid, Nebraska College Preparatory Academy, New Student Enrollment, and Registration & Records. The position is a vital member of the Dean of Enrollment Management leadership team, the University Enrollment Management Council, Student Affairs Directors, and Senior Vice Chancellor’s Retention Advisory Council.

Oversee all high school relations, college retention, fundraising, grant-writing, and community outreach on behalf of UNL Chancellor Harvey Perlman and members of the Nebraska College Preparatory Academy (NCPA) in Omaha and Grand Island, NE. Supervise 12 staff members including an Diversity & Recruitment Outreach Manager, Assistant Director for High School programs, Personal Wellness staff, and College Retention Coordinator, responsible for more than 400 first generation, low-income students (150% below poverty line), and award more than one million dollars in scholarships.

I oversaw all the recruitment and marketing functions for undergraduate student recruitment. Additionally, I managed a staff of 14 direct reports (22 total) in the areas of on-campus programming, high-ability & multicultural recruitment, territory management & travel, telecounseling, marketing, freshman scholarships, corporate sponsorships, athletic recruitment, and web development.

As Associate Director I coordinated on-campus programming and marketing for more than 12,000 prospective students each year. On-campus programs include both individual and large programs. I directly managed five staff in the areas of on-campus programming, high ability & multicultural recruitment, and campus visits.
