Currently, I am a Research Scientist in Estrada Fernando's Lab, Biochemistry, Jacobs School of Medicine and Biological Sciences, University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, primarily working on biophysical, biochemical and evolutionary physiology in respect to the adaptation of heme proteins (hemoglobin function in high and low altitude organisms) and enzyme cytochrome P450 in mitochondria and mycobacterium.I got awarded a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry at the University of Delhi South Campus. I had developed a passion for research in the area of discovery and characterization of new hemoglobins, mechanism of ligand binding regulation, mechanistic & functional role of interacting redox partner with cytochrome P450, and developing biophysical tools and molecular techniques like UV-visible spectrophotometry, fluorimetry, circular dichroism, FTIR, laser flash photolysis, stopped-flow, Mӧssbauer spectroscopy, EPR, DSC, analytical centrifugation, HPLC, FPLC, MALDI-TOF, site-directed mutagenesis (over 50 different site-specific mutants are constructed by me), electrophoresis, western blotting, crystallization, NMR, etc for their study. In addition, I have trained myself in in silico and bioinformatics analysis (modeling, docking, etc) of proteins as well and in silico drug discovery/designing.I am a highly motivated, creative individual who works well independently as wells as collaboratively with teams of scientists from diverse backgrounds. I enjoy working in a focused environment. I also have experience of co-mentoring, training technicians and undergraduate students with little prior research skills.
