Through Heights tlc Limited I provide bespoke, experiential learning opportunities to businesses and voluntary organisations as well as clinical supervision, consultation and therapy services.

In addition to talking to people about their difficulties and confusions in relation to their diabetes I have also had opportunities to develop and run a variety of courses and projects (support events, teaching and training) and have contributed a regular column for professional members magazine "Update".My research is focused on how the language used in diabetes care facilitates people experience of having diabetes.

The Bereavement ServiceI held three positions with The Bereavement Service (a service offering bereavement counselling and grief therapy in Sutton and Merton – formerly Sutton Bereavement service prior to a merger with Merton Bereavement Service in 2001); Assistant Director (1997-2000), Children, Families and Young People’s Bereavement Project Coordinator (2001 to 2003) and Head of Counselling (2003 until it’s closure in April 2007).The bereavement Service in Brief• 480 referrals on average annually• 60+ Counsellors• 14 Supervisors• Partnerships with Sutton and Merton PCT, Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust, Pathways Mental Health Trust, CAMHS, Royal Marsden Hospital.• Referral paths: self referral, GP surgery, Hospital, Social Services, Adult MHT, CAMHS• Open ended counselling and grief therapy sessions conducted for Adults, Young People, Children and Families across two sites.THE BEREAVEMENT SERVICEMain Responsibilities as Head of Counselling• Supervision• all clinical and ethical operations of the service• managing referrals, organising assessments (including conducting assessments) and allocation to counsellor (with allocations manager)• ethical practice, pastoral care and wellbeing of volunteer 60+ placement counsellors• reconciliation of all ethical dimensions of the organizations activities• the working environment, wellbeing and practice of 5 part-time staff• to the board of trustees for reporting and monitoring• evaluation and monitoring of clinical outcomes, service delivery and stakeholder satisfaction• Multi-disciplinary involvement and consultation with relevant professionals and organizations • Developing, maintaining and annually reviewing Policies and Procedures
