The annual rate of decline of oil was 37% . Challenge was to arrest the production decline and pressure sink spreading. Using the innovative ideas and fit for purpose technology, oil decline was arrested to zero. Reservoir pressure started increasing. • Enhanced Oil Recovery from B173 field :B173 is a small field of ONGC north of Neelam field. The field has 4 wells, out of which one was dry and another was shaled out in most part of the horizontal section. Production was low and field was becoming uneconomical. Challenge to find additional resources and increase the production. A comprehensive geological model was prepared and simulated under my supervision. Found extension of reservoir area still untapped. This let to substantial increase in reserves. The existing empty slot was used to drill a well to new area and another dry well was sidetracked. This resulted in increasing the oil production by 100 %• Enhanced Oil Recovery from Heera Asset:Heera offshore field is the second largest field of ONGC. The reservoir modeling and simulation was carried out for proper understating of field. Two additional platforms were recommended capable of drilling 18 wells in a new area. This led to increase oil production substantially. • Field development planning of Ratna and R series fieldRatna and R series fields are a cluster of small oil fields south of Heera field. A team, under my leadership was formed including geologist, geophysicist, Petrophysicist, production engineer, reservoir engineer to find the true potential of the field and current status of the production facilities along with platform and wells. Detailed studies were carried out and report submitted.
