About Anthony Granville Phd Gaicd

Creativity - Innovation - Passion for Research - LeadershipMy entire career has been built on these tenets. Whether this has been through researching and creating advanced polymeric materials for applications in the biomedical, sensor, or environmental treatment industries or developing new photoconducting products for the laser printer aftermarket, I have successfully managed research across a range of chemistry disciplines. As a research chemist, I can honestly say that I love being in the lab - exploring problems and allowing my creativity and innovation to run and fully immerse myself into the research task. This passion for discovery allowed me to excel in the R&D space creating a range of new products for industry. Taking a project from initial research through to full production permitted me the opportunity to troubleshoot every aspect of the pilot plant and mass production scale processes and the nuances between bench research and production. I was also able to prioritise multiple research projects based not only on time constraints and customer requests, but on projected sales and financial impacts to the business. As a former research academic, these principles were further enhanced, developing projects investigating polymerization systems and structure-property relationships for novel polymeric materials. My research grew in diversity - biomedical devices, thin film polymer coatings, surface modifications, and nanocapsule technology, and water treatment systems and devices - while maintaining one unifying theme, the coating and chemical modification of novel polymers for unique property manipulation. Now, as a senior researcher leading R&D at Harrison Manufacturing, all of this experience and knowledge is being used to develop novel coating and lubricating materials. Manipulating materials to improve anti-corrosion, reduce wear and friction, and increase biodegradability and compatibility.
