Dr. Arup Kumar Nath is one of the leading Advanced Laser & Laparoscopic urologists in North East India. He has completed his MBBS in 1998 and MS (Surgery) at Guwahati Medical College & Hospital, Guwahati, 2004. He finished his M.Ch (Urology) at prestigious B.J. Medical College and Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad, 2011. And further He got his special training in Advanced LASER at Milan, Italy.He has performed more than 15,000 Minimally Invasive urological surgeries in Assam and neighbouring states, including more than 3,000 PCNL, over 2,500 TURP, over 1000 laser prostatectomy using Thulium, Thulium fibre and Holmium laser. He has also performed 150 Watt Thulium Laser Prostatectomy and zero ischemic laparoscopic thulium laser partial nephrectomy for the first time in North Eastern India. He has been invited to live operative workshops across the country like Kolkota, Ranchi, Bihar, Bhubaneswar, Faridabad and Hyderabad to demonstrate his skills of laser enucleation of prostate. He has been regularly holding hands-on-training camps and trained many urologists from India and abroad for Laser surgery for kidney stone and prostate disease (BPH). He has organized 3 major live operative workshops in Laparoscopy (UROLAP), 2013, & LASER (UROLASER) in 2017 & 2019 at Guwahati, Assam. His latest article on - Thulium LASER TURBT: Is it better than Conventional? A retrospective single center study of 134 cases has been published on International Journal of Medical and Applied Sciences (Volume 11, Issue 3, 2022).He is very actively involved social community services too. He is the recipient of Swasthya Sewa Ratna Award by Assam Talks in 2017 for performance in Medical Field and Honored by Paschim Guwahati Lekhika Sanstha in 2019 for his notable contribution in the field of Health Care.
