Asif Umar, a PhD in Hindi Literature is associated with Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi since last 17 years and is currently working as Asstt. Professor in the department of Hindi. Dr Umar is coming with rich experience of teaching and research and has authored several books , research papers and articles. Dr Umar has also served as Asstt. Director Arjun Singh center for distance and open learning JMI.As coordinator of Centre for Coaching and Career Planning Jamia Millia Islamia, he was instrumental in shaping up careers of many students aspiring to crack civil services and other competitive examsA keen observer of political and development status of country and Participated in National News Channel as Political analyst.Dr.Umar has made good contribution to ensure better education for socially deprived students.Dr. Umar is also well placed to deal with issues around education, social development and natural resources management. Issues of the poor, especially the minorities have sharpened his understanding of policies on social development and natural resources management. He has a proven ability to work productively with academicians, civil society organizations and development agencies, especially in the rural and urban development sectors. He has organized several seminar and thematic discussions on Hindi literature and other issues of academic and social interest.
