During my MSc and PhD studies, as a teaching assistant, I was involved with the teaching of 1st and 3rd year BSc students in the Introduction to Pharmaceutical Chemistry Practical Sessions and Active Drug Substance Synthesis Practical Sessions respectively.2. I served as a Pharmacist in Pharmaceutical Laboratories of Greek Army (Quality Control). I was involved with the qualitative-quantitative analysis and stability controls of intermediate, semifinal and final pharmaceutical products (tablets, capsules, creams, ointments, syrups, solutions, powders), according to the Greek Pharmacopoeia analytical methods. Specifically, I was occupied with volumetric and potentiometric titrations, Infrared spectra (IR), Ultraviolet-Visible absorption (UV-Vis), density, pH and refraction index measurements, melting points, dissolution studies, High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), identification reactions and purity controls. Moreover, I was involved with the quality control of active drug substances and excipients. Furthermore, as the main analyst, I participated in the development of generics MesulidR (active drug substance: Nimesulide) and NorgesicR (active drug substances: Paracetamol-Orphenadrine Citrate) via assay controls and dissolution studies. These generics have been approved by the National Medicines Agency and today are included in the Greek Army’s pharmaceutical portfolio.
