As a Research Professor at Texas Tech University in the College of Education, I will continue to serve the university and K-12 community by authoring proposals and supporting community and K-12 outreach. I am excited to be joining Dr. Jerry Dwyer, Director of the Center for Integration of STEM Education & Research on campus (CISER) and assisting them as they grow their research endeavors.

I dedicated 20 years to the Colorado School of Mines as an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Full Professor in Applied Mathematics and Statistics. I had the largest, funded research program in my department and I lead the Center for Assessment in STEM. I became a Research Professor after my first retirement from Mines and now I have fully retired from Mines.

I am the founder and Director of the Center for Assessment in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics at the Colorado School of Mines. I delayed my sabbatical leave by one year in order to assist CSM by leading the committee that authored the Quality Assurance Document for the Higher Learning Commission. I was the primary author for the first four chapters (out of five chapters) for this report. This report supported the successful accreditation of CSM by the Higher Learning Commission for the next ten years.

During my sabbatical leave from CSM, academic year 2013-14, I consulted for eNetColorado and collaboratively authored several concept papers describing the professional development and instructional learning opportunities that are available through the eNet interface. As an Associate Professor, I taught and coordinated the same courses as those listed under my role as a Professor. My research experience and the projects on which I worked signficantly expanded during the time that I was an Associate Professor. I also worked on several projects as an expert external evaluator.

As an Assistant Professor, I taught and coordinated the same courses as are listed in my current role as a Professor. I also began the process of building my research reputation through publications and presentations.

I was a Co-founder of this campus center and an author of the original internal proposal which was approved to establish this center. While working on this effort, I published research articles in STEM and assessment and secured research funding to support these efforts.

I taught the calculus sequence and began the process of learning how to secure funding to support my research in STEM and assessment.

In this role, I taught college algebra and calculus for business majors.

I taught courses in computer science which were offered through the mathematics department.
