Each child, no matter the age, deserves to learn the in ways that fit them.To enable this to happen, there are parents and educators all across the nation pushing this common vision. As Superintendent I am responsible for all aspects of Mazapan Bilingual School sponsored by Standard Fruit of Honduras. Mazapan is a private pre-K to 12th grade American-Style school open to families who wish to prepare their students in English and Spanish to be successful in universities in Honduras and through-out the world.

I am lucky to work with seven talented and exceptionally dedicated teachers who love languages and helping students learn them. I have the privilege of meeting with them in a PLC format twice a month as well as interacting with them on a daily basis. I manage all of the budgets, materials, and scheduling for the LOTE department. I also teach introductory Spanish.

San Antonio, Texas Area

As principal in 2001-03 and again in 2014-15 of SATA , an alternative school of choice, I managed a staff that helps the very neediest of students obtain their high school diploma and technology career skills. Under my tenure, the school doubled enrollment, established college connections, implemented a one-to-one tablet blended learning program, and helped almost 250 at-risk students make measurable academic progress. I established a nursery for students with children, obtained federal program inclusion, oversaw classroom expansion, established a school lunch program, a science laboratory and a special education program.

San Antonio

As principal of South Side High School, pushed to establish a college readiness culture. I initiated the AVID program to further support our students in rigorous academic work. I established a PLC structure with the staff and organized a master schedule around that. I reorganized the secretarial staff, streamlined the record-keeping process to provide better service to the community and students.

I taught the College Algebra and Critical Thinking courses to dental assistant and respiratory therapist students, making these course relevant to their major areas of study.

Houston, Texas Area

As a Learning Coach, I help small groups of principals and aspiring principals to develop necessary leadership and management skills to be successful in implementing school improvement to be able to turn around their underperforming schools.

As Assistant Superintendent I was able to bring the district to Recognized Status. In addition, the elementary schools were also brought up to Recognized Status. The Junior High School and the High School were Unacceptable in 2006 and by the time I left in 2008, the Junior High was Exemplary and the High School was Acceptable.

My responsibilities included managing a million dollar grant from NASA that involved ten colleges and universities coast to coast and one in Puerto Rico. I also obtained and managed a grant from the Ford Fund for an education program called Ford PAS. I assisted in the Prefreshman Engineering program called TexPEP.

Hesperia, California

Secured $650,000 through my Digital High School Grant writing. Designed and organized the Sultana High School Digital High School Implementation plan. Aided the Technology Committee in creating a Technology Mission and Vision. Established the Sultana High School Digital Advisory Council composed of students, parents, faculty, district office personnel, business leaders, higher education representatives and service clubs. Organized and produced the first Sultana High School Student Safety Summit.

Beaumont High School, Beaumont, Ca

Improved efficiency and reduced costs by establishing ID card bar code and sticker system, computer-controlled point of sales, receipt printing and budget posting. Placed bar codes on the student IDs for the first time in Beaumont High School history. Realigned the School Improvement Plan to reflect the teachers' priorities.Created and compiled the School Safety plan.Replaced the previous On-Campus Suspension program and established a program that meets ED Code standards, and that motivates students to be productive.

Fontana, California

Taught Spanish to native and non-native speakers. Also taught adult ESL and algebra classes,and provided K-12 home instructor services. Provided official translation and interpretation services for campus level needs and district level events.Served as District Technology Mentor Teacher, member of the 1997 Technology Summit California State University-San Bernardino, chairman and founder of the Fontana High School Technology Committee. Grant writer for SB 1510 Technology Bill, funded $93,000. Coordinated the grant-funded Multimedia Multi-Cultural Connection program.
