I am thrilled the new Extended Learning Opportunity Program Administrator at Quail Valley Elementary With over 30 years of dedicated service in the field of education, I am honored to step into this role and continue my journey in supporting students' academic and personal growth.Throughout my career, I have been committed to creating inclusive and engaging learning environments that empower students to reach their full potential. My experience as an Education Specialist and Teacher in Special Assignment has given me a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that our students face, and I am passionate about developing programs that not only address their academic needs but also nurture their interests and talents.As the new Administrator of the Extended Learning Opportunity Program, my primary goal is to build upon the strong foundation already in place and to expand our offerings in ways that resonate with our diverse student body. I am excited to collaborate with our dedicated educators, staff, families, and community partners to create enriching opportunities that support our students' educational journeys.I believe that every student deserves access to quality learning experiences, both inside and outside the classroom. Special Education, and Student Support Services, the Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA): Special Education Elementary Instructional Coach will assist in the implementation of the district special education elementary programs, assist in curriculum development and ensure legal compliance with individualized education plans. The role of the TOSA is a support position designed to increase the capacity of special education teachers in implementing best practices within the learning environment, assist in the development of legally defensible goals and objectives, assist with data tracking, interpreting assessment reports, and determining appropriate interventions based on the student’s needs, and perform other related duties as assigned.

Provide research-based specialized instruction to address the instructional goals and objectives contained within each student’s IEP. Assess student progress and determines the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniques. Differentiated instruction to enable students to meet their IEP goals. Assessment (formal and informal), development and implement annual and triennial Individualized Educational Program (IEP) plans for students to include: present levels of educational performance, special education needs, instructional goals and objectives, and special education and related services required to meet those goals. Schedule team meetings and work cooperatively with student study team members and others in developing instructional goals and strategies. Coordinate the delivery of special education services in each student's IEP. Create a positive learning experience with emphasis in individualized instruction using technology. Primary contact for administration, staff, parent, and student. Conduct special education evaluations and reevaluations. I provide direction, supervision and evaluation of educational assistants as directed. Establish and maintain student confidential records.Provide classroom structure and consistency to encourage student responsibility, cooperation and mutual respect consistent with district policies and procedures. Collaborate and consult with educational professionals and community service providers (i.e., social services, public health, probation, and medical providers) regarding the needs of students.Provide consultation to classroom teachers regarding classroom adaptions, instructional modifications, adaptive equipment, behavior modification plans and other similar instructional interventions to meet the needs of students with disabilities.

Previous employment with San Diego Unified School District as an Education Specialist. My responsibilities were to deliver differentiated instruction to students with mild to moderate disabilities in CORE curriculum such as; Math, Language Arts, Science, and US/World History and Life/Study Skills. differentiated instruction, curriculum design and implementation, behavior support plans, formal and informal student assessments. Development and implementation of student's Individual Educational Plan. Worked with various organizations such as; administration, social services, probation, community, and parent services.
