Charles Rose is the Chairman of Hainsford Renewable Energy Limited, a UK wind energy development business which can trace its origins to the first days of commercial wind energy in the UK. He pioneered the repowering of wind farms in the UK with the first repowering at Caton Moor Wind Farm in Lancashire UK and has completed the first phase of the repowering of the iconic Blyth Harbour Wind Farm, the first marine wind farm in Europe.Charles works in wind energy internationally both on his own account and with private equity partners. He established a major renewable energy company in South Africa and has worked in Australia, Europe and Latin America.Charles' strengths and interests are in project development, with particular focus on environmental best practice, project delivery, including project management, PPA negotiations and regulatory frameworks.Of particular interest is the development of renewable energy in Africa, both on and off grid. For several years Charles was the Vice Chairman of the British Wind Energy Association, now RenewableUK, and a strong advocate for local content, jobs and training in the industry.Charles holds B.Sc.
