Led the process that resulted in the successful sale of the business to GFT plc for c.£50m.

Led and negotiated a leveraged management buy-out backed by a leading PE investor and RBS of the asset management systems division from Finastra to create Rhyme Systems in 2003, for £20m. Cut costs and grew new revenue streams to deliver 20-25% EBITDA, then led the trade sale of Rhyme via an auction process to Indian listed company 3i Infotech in 2006 for over £30m. 3i Infotech, a spin off from ICICI Bank, acquired Rhyme as a platform to launch into Europe, where they had almost no presence or experience. As the regional President, advised the Group CEO of 3i Infotech on the launch strategy identified and organised the acquisition of two complimentary product companies, hired industry specialists to grow the business, and headed all of 3i Infotech's business operations in Europe.

Headed Finastra (Misys) Asset Management Systems which provided sophisticated portfolio management software solutions for European banks, investment mangers and leading financial institutions. Five offices in the UK and France, with over 300 staff and revenues of over £30m. Formulated and implemented the plan to reduce costs by 20% and re-organise the business, returning the division to profitability. Identified and led the acquisition of an innovate start up business, providing new technology for the sector.

MAOSCO was a subsidiary of Mondex, which created the MULTOS multi-application operating system for chip card platform for payments - the most secure such operating system in existence, with ITSEC E6 and CC EAL7 certification. As a director of MAOSCO and Mondex Deputy CEO, a key member of the team that invested £10m creating the MULTOS platform and successfully promoting it as a global open system. Used by over 2 billion devices globally.

• Led the teams that delivered £27m earnout for shareholders through the sale of a 49% equity holding to Mastercard.• Realized over £86m of shareholder value from the incorporation of Mondex International in 1996.• Established franchises in over 70 countries in less than 4 years.

Gemini Consulting, the management consulting division of Capgemini, led large scale business transformation programmes for large corporations around the world. Sold and delivered several major engagements in the telecommunications, finance and healthcare sectors, each worth between £10 and £40m in engagement fees for the firm.

• Led sales, commercial, and delivery stages of major programs, including a £25m contract to create a foreign exchange service for European banks. This system prevented systemic banking collapse caused by settlement exposures.• Managed full-scale trial of a new electronic retail payments system for a leading UK bank.

Management of field seismic data acquisition operations for three years in Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa, including teams of between 70 and 500 local staff.Then PhD and post-doctoral level research at University of Cambridge exploring the seismic structure of the crust below the in deep oceans, including managing large scale operations in the Atlantic ocean. Then two years with Schlumberger leading applied high-technology post doctoral research programmes to develop techniques for enhanced reservoir exploitation.
