ChangeXtra is an award winning organisation on a mission to improve experiences of peri-menopause. We are passionate about enabling conversations about the menopause and empowering women through positive change. We deliver training and talks for organisations to create conversations about all-things peri-menopausal. We are the creators of the Pausetrack app - an award winning health tracking and self-care app to help monitor symptoms and make informed choices for positive change. As both Founder and CEO, my work on ChangeXtra has resulted in the win of Ingenuity 2021s Female Entrepreneur of the Year, East Midlands Champion and Health Champion. I have pushed ChangeXtra’s agenda via BBC and ITV News and created communities on social media platforms for women to share their experiences. With a progressive background that includes using technology to support health and social education, Pausetrack is aimed at helping women to see the new patterns in their lives, and to empower women to take care of themselves.In 2024 ChangeXtra was selected from thousands of applicants as winnder of an Innovate UK BUILD UP (Unlocking Potential) award. This will fund a project 'exploring diverse views on peri-menopause, digital health and AI #InnovateUKfunded

As a Senior Research Fellow and Lead Researcher on a range of projects, I typically specialise in qualitative and ethnographic studies, but also work with mixed methods of research. I am responsible for the planning, research, data collection, analysis and reporting work. Also involved in a range of professional health and educational research networks, my work is a mix of project-based research, teaching and as a Supervisor to UG, Masters and PhD students. Currently working on the NIHR funded large scale ROWTATE trial, supporting people back to work after long-term injury.Notable previous projects include the Evaluation of the ACP role and development of such, a Centre for Health Innovation, Leadership & Learning project, and the Co-Pi Evaluation of General Practice Nursing with Midlands & East, both HEE funded.

Diving deep into research, I was a Research Fellow to NHS England Funded projects, including the National Evaluation of Clinical Pharmacists in General Practice, GP/Pharmacy Transformation Project and a CCG Funded Community Pharmacy Video Reflexivity for Safety project.Within all my research projects, I conducted significant ethnographic service evaluations of trial healthcare models, generated feasibility studies, inc. of a video reflexivity model that was aimed at improving community pharmacy safety. I conducted systematic literature reviews, explored research and trial methodologies with pharmacists, commissioners, and multinational companies. I was also a part of the evaluation of large-scale patient facing research for undergraduate pharmacy students.Prior to this, as a Research Assistant on the Improving Nursing Undergraduate Student Experience with Peer Mentoring project, I led the evaluation of educational and pastoral intervention for Nursing Students and developed a peer mentoring scheme that was repeatedly extended over 3 years, and formed the basis for a university-wide roll out of peer mentoring. As a result, I was nominated and won the Dearing award for Teaching & Learning.

Health research and artificial intelligenceSelected for the DECODE project, focused on understanding MLTCS in people with learning disabilities using AI, I apply my skills and expertise in systematic reviews with PPI, working with clinical stakeholders and patients with learning disabilities and carers. A NIHR funded project that is joined led by Leicestershire Partnershp NHS Trust, we are focused on clarifying the relationship between multiple long-term conditions and risk factors in people with intellectual disabilities crucial to informing care coordination strategies via targeted prevention interventions.

I joined The University of Nottingham as both an Educational Researcher and Project Manager. I was a part of the peer mentoring project that was focused on raising awareness of hearing loss in educational research. I managed a group of student action researchers through the design, validation, administration and testing of research as a part of a university NAA module. As project manager, I successfully recruited, trained, and managed 100+ peer mentors to the programme to oversee the growth and attainment of 400 undergraduates. I personally delivered modules and tutorials on best practice dissemination.
