Currently I teach Life Science implementing pedagogical principles of Culturally Relevant Pedagogy, social emotional learning, second-language learner strategies through the content of Science to students in 7th grade.Lead and facilitate training on campus for Teach Like A ChampionLeads and facilitate training for gradual release model to various levels of teachersServe as the campus leader for gifted instruction and the gifted coordinator for my grade level.

I completed coursework at NOVA Southeastern University in Curriculum and Teaching as of August 2022. My completed my dissertation studied the incorporation of culturally relevant pedagogy or education into middle school mathematics and it’s academic impact on Black students specifically. My research reports the findings on the use of professional development and the use of a culturally relevant mathematics tool in teaching and planning to impact we student achievement. The professional development was designed with diverse teacher populations in mind. The hope was that the use of the CRMT tool and CRP would positively influence successful achievement for African American students in mathematics at the middle school level. I have experience as principal implementing school wide programs that embedding social-emotional learning skills, along with experience establishing and implementing The Leader In Me schoolwide program. I am an energetic, passionate, knowledgeable, and experienced leader who enjoys leading adults, children, families, and communities.

K-5 administrator in a public school setting. As an administrator in FZ, I was one of the first principals to introduce the Leader in Me philosophy to our school and school district. In the four years of my leadership I developed many teacher leaders, developed teacher efficacy and re-shaped and designed school culture using the 7 Habits of Effective People as the guiding philosophy for leadership and goal-setting.

2010 Initiated and implemented a campus wide mentor program in partnership with a local churchUnder my leadership and creative design I partnered with my campus counselor, one districtadministrator and church leadership to create an inaugural mentorship program in Allen ISD.Implemented a 5 day, two week rotation schedule of Science and Technology Enrichment classes for Kindergarten through Second gradesDesigned a creative instructional program to support student development in their knowledge andunderstanding of basic technology skills (e.g. use of Word, Power Point, functions of a computer,etc.,).
