MAIN DUTIES · Managing the regional Design Review and Enabling Services working closely with CABE and regional bodies. · Project managing the transfer of key services to BRE and voluntary organisations. · Producing high quality written reports that promote design quality within the planning process. · Developing pilot projects to implement the governments Localism agenda with Local Authorities and Communities.SKILLS GAINED · Managing senior consultants from a range of professional backgrounds as well as junior staff. · Project management including writing tenders and briefs through to financing and evaluating finished projects. · Promoting the service to applicants in order to generate a regular throughput of schemes through direct approaches to planning officers and developers. · Managing relationships between developers, clients and the public sector. · Building a network of contacts with professionals, developers and the voluntary sector in the East of England · Assessing schemes and facilitating development through providing expert support. · High level communication skills through producing robust written reports and delivering presentations to large professional audiences.

MAIN DUTIES · Researching and producing a series of good practice guides and events. · Managing a large workload with a number of projects including a large ESF skills project. · Recruiting consultants to conduct research, produce guidance and as Design Review and Enabling Panel MembersSKILLS GAINED · Developed research skills and learnt to present the finished product in a clear attractive format. · Project management, ensuring they stay on track taking remedial action when required and producing critical evaluations. · Event management including designing and running events for up to 80 professional delegates. · Working effectively with other bodies such as English Heritage and Shape East the local Architecture Centre to deliver joint programmes.

MAIN DUTIES · Developed and delivered a skills programme for six Local Authorities looking to deliver high levels of growth. · Managed the programme of local and regional support including the development of the region's first graduate level urban design qualification.SKILLS GAINED · Designing programmes including a series of six cross disciplinary stakeholder workshops. This required managing budgets, consultants and relationships with senior Local Authority officers. · Promoting my organisation and programme through networking and public speaking to professional audiences including The Urban Design Group's National Conference. · Analysing projects, organisational capacity and developing relationships with key staff from separate directorates within a Local Authority.

MAIN DUTIES• Providing training and 1:1 support to voluntary and community groups wanting to develop as a social enterprise.• Promoting access to grant and loan finance for the Third Sector.SKILLS GAINED• Skills in business planning and assessing the viability of proposals. • As a result I have extensive knowledge of the legal and governance structures that relate to the not-for-profit sector.
