Our service focuses on assessment of need, treatment, and recovery and places the service user at the centre of care planning. The service is for men aged between 18 and 65 and those over 65.Nottingham Specialist Depression Service, Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust a) Observed and then developed my own caseload, working collaboratively with psychotherapists and developing a knowledge of next-step medical interventions.b) CBT case and Psychodynamic case under supervision of specialist psychotherapy leads.c) Service development through an exercise recovery group for people suffering persistent depression. In liaison with clinical and academic staff (based at NSDS and IMH), analysed quantitative data defining group characteristics and then assessed narrative feedback from these participants, considering the potential for content or thematic analysis. It was agreed that the narrative feedback lacked the necessary scope for content analysis and lacked the depth needed for thematic analysis; but there were important insights that could lead to an improved interview structure to support more formal qualitative analysis later on in service development. My report has formed the basis of application for recurrent funding from the Trust and the ICS, which has been approved. I am still involved in developing this service.
