I am a barrister at 4 King’s Bench Walk (4KBW) practising predominantly in commercial disputes, aviation and marine, banking and financial services, property and trusts, wills and probate, insolvency, public law, professional negligence, and human rights and civil liberties. I work on cross-border and international disputes, cases in foreign jurisdictions applying English law, and I have extensive experience of mediation and arbitration as well as other forms of alternative dispute resolution.I provide advisory and advocacy services, and work both as sole counsel and as part of a larger legal team.I am also a contributor and editor for the leading aviation text, Shawcross and Beaumont: Air Law.My clients have included: companies, airlines, airports, logistics providers, charterers, ship owners, insurers, banks and other lenders/finance houses, public bodies, and individuals.I completed pupillage at 4KBW between 2018-2019 and was the recipient of the ICLR Pupillage Award. During the BPTC I was a Major Scholar of the Inner Temple and I received the Inn's BPTC Prize for graduating with an Outstanding grade. I was also a Sir Joseph Priestly Scholar and received Duke of Edinburgh, Marshall Hall Trust and Internship Awards.Prior to taking up this position I was an ESRC Doctoral Scholar in international relations at the School of Politics and International Studies at the University of Leeds. During my doctoral studies I taught public international law, international human rights law, international politics, political theory, and transitional justice at the universities of Leeds and Sheffield. I have also taught English public law, human rights law and criminal law in Kenya.I previously held the position of Visiting Researcher at the Centre for International Criminal Justice at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and I was a Visiting Professional in the Article 70 defence team of Mr Jean-Pierre Bemba at the International Criminal Court.
