PhD at the institute of genetics in the lab of Prof. Dr. Norbert F. Käufer. The Käufer lab investigates the splicing process in fission yeast. Thereby my main concern was to figure out the function of the Prp4 kinase. Title of my thesis: The serine/threonine kinase Prp4 of Schizosaccharomyces pombe improves the recognition of introns with weak splice sites.
