A postgraduate in medicine and M.Phil. in Hospitals and Health Systems Management, Darshan worked with Indian Air Force for more than 20 years and gained considerable experience in applied biomedical research. He then worked for 10 years with AstraZeneca to provide strategic inputs to drug discovery and development in India and UK. At AstraZeneca UK, as the Global Drug Safety Physician he was member of Clinical Development Teams for Cardiovascular and Inflammation therapy areas.He represented the company in discussions with the FDA and EMEA to discuss the End of Phase II programme and design of Phase III study in development of Ticagrelor. He also successfully handled the pharmacovigilance responsibilities of marketed products. In 2007 he helped set up Sciformix Technologies (India). In 2010 he joined as Director Patient Safety at Vanthys Pharmaceutical Development Pvt. Ltd. Then from in 2011 he helped Strides Arcolabs Pvt. Ltd. to set up their in-house Pharmacovigilance Organisation and also guided PV operations of other clients.From Oct 2011 to Feb 2015, he was once again associated with Sciformix Technologies as the Subject Matter Expert. He was the main contributor to Compliance Program Implementation for a MNC client for Monographs, Devices and Cosmetic products and was part of the Quality Management Team. He also managed and mentored a team of 20 physicians. He has also chaired the DSMB for several clinical studies with stem cells and biological.From 2017 to 2019 he was advising Sciformix in Aggregate Safety, Signals & Risk Management. He has a keen eye for data analysis using Qlik platform and clinical interpretation.He is also a golfer and likes Hindustani classical music.
