Our Start-Up "Traction-X" is developing a new combination of drivetrain and suspension for scooters. The patented design is both compact and lightweight and allows to increase the wheel diameter, which is very favourable for driving characteristics. The Traction-X scooter design will combine the "best of two worlds", i.e. the favourable characteristics of the scooter (seating comfort, protected footwell) with the advantages of the motorcycle (driving stability, rolling and suspension comfort).The basis is a patent for a new combination of secondary drive, wheel suspension and drive wheel of a vehicle, by the German Patent and Trademark Office (see https://register.dpma.de/DPMAregister/pat/register?AKZ=1020111173882).Pre-development has started in 2020, in cooperation with two universities of applied sciences in Cologne and Wolfsburg. The proof-of-concept is accomplished by a demonstrator that has been developed in this scope. Currently ongoing is the design of a first scooter prototype.
