As the commander of the 72d Medical Group, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, responsibilities include for the planning, organizing, developing and implementing the delivery of optimal health services to over 54,000 Department of Defense beneficiaries, the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center and all hosted units. Additionally, the 72d Medical Group strives to maximize wartime and peacetime readiness and support for worldwide deployment and to provide an integrated managed care system for our 25,000 TRICARE Prime enrollees in DoD Region South. The 72d Medical Group is a large outpatient clinic with services to include Family Practice, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Mental Health, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Physical Therapy, Flight Medicine, Immunizations, Dental services, Occupational Medicine, Public Health, Bioenvironmental services, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Laboratory Services. Support services include Education and Training, Systems, Logistics, Patient Administration, Quality, Patient Safety and Satisfaction, and Facilities. The 72d Medical Group is comprised of four squadrons and a medical group staff and is the combination of military members, GS civilians, and contractors with over 530 members.
